Worcester Sharks News Release
WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks President and CEO Michael T. Lehr announced today that the Worcester Sharks and the March of Dimes will team up again this year when the Sharks host the Lowell Devils on Saturday, January 10th at the DCU Center. A portion of the ticket proceeds will aid the March of Dimes mission to improve the health of babies.
"Since day one we have been committed to supporting our community," said Lehr. "The Sharks are honored to team up with the March of Dimes for the third straight season and look forward to many more of these events in the future. It is important for our fans to understand premature birth and how serious it can be."
On Saturday, January 10, 2008, the Worcester Sharks will host a "March of Dimes Night" at the DCU Center. The Worcester Sharks hockey game against the Lowell Devils starts at 7:05 p.m. with the dropping of the puck by March of Dimes Ambassador Family, the McLennan's from Shrewsbury. Throughout the game, the March of Dimes will be hosting an information table and selling beanie babies.
"Partnerships with organizations like the Worcester Sharks are very important to the March of Dimes and the mission to help save babies. We are very excited again about this opportunity to come together with such a community focused organization and to inform and educate the thousands of Worcester Sharks friends, fans and families about the crisis of premature birth," said Ed Doherty, March of Dimes State Director.
A portion of the ticket proceeds will be donated to the March of Dimes. Tickets cost $15 and are available online at www.sharksahl.com/tickets/MarchofDimes.asp or www.marchofdimes.comma or by calling the Sharks offices at 508.929.0500.
