Iowa Chops News Release

Iowa Chops President Steve Nitzel has announced that all of the Iowa Chops jerseys, including authentic and replica of both the black and the white jerseys have been delivered and are now available for sale. The jerseys are available online at the Chop Shop, or can be purchased at the next Iowa Chops home game on Saturday, December 27th as the Chops host the Rockford IceHogs at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines at 7:05pm. Fans who pre-ordered their jerseys, either authentic or replica, can pick up their jersey(s) at the home game on Saturday. "Apparently, Santa had them," said a delighted Nitzel. "In all seriousness, we appreciate our fans patience throughout this process and are finally glad to have the jerseys in stock for fans to purchase and cheer on their Iowa Chops."

GET A FREE T-SHIRT! The first 1,000 fans through the door during the home game on Saturday will receive a FREE 'Welcome to the meatlocker' Iowa Chops t-shirt courtesy of Johnny's Hall of Fame on Court Avenue.

ANOTHER GOOD CAUSE During the home game this Saturday, the Iowa Chops will also be hosting the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps and the Isiserettes Drill and Drum Corps as they prepare to make a trip to Washington DC. Earlier this month, President-elect Barack Obama and Vice President-elect Joe Biden's Inaugural Committee officially extended an offer to the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps and the Isiserettes Drill and Drum Corps to march in the 56th Inaugural Parade. Members of the groups will join representatives from across the country and the Armed Forces in the historic parade down Pennsylvania Avenue following President-elect Obama's swearing-in ceremony on the steps of the Capitol. A portion of the Pitch a Pig proceeds during the home game's on December 27th and January 10th will be donated by the Iowa Chops to the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps and the Isiserettes Drill and Drum Corps so that they make the historic trip.
