Myrtle Beach Pelicans News Release

little rain won't stop the Pelicans from opening ballpark gates at 5:30 p.m. and presenting you with an action-packed night at BB&T Coastal Field, featuring the 10th Anniversary Photo-Baseball #5 Giveaway to the first 2,000 fans as the Pelicans host the Wilmington Blue Rocks in game two of a three-game series. Photo-Baseball #5 features former Pelicans' greats Jason Marquis and Chuck James.

With seven games remaining in the regular season, every game has become vitally important as the birds chase the second half title. They are currently 2 ½ games ahead of the Winston-Salem Warthogs in the second half, with a magic number of six to clinch both half titles.

Monday's 7:05 p.m. game against Wilmington is still scheduled despite intermittent rain showers at BB&T Coastal Field throughout the day. The Pelicans Grounds Crew covered the infield shortly before the rain began and once the weather stops, the tarp will be lifted and the field will be prepared for baseball.

A reminder to all fans, that those collecting all six 10th Anniversary Photo-Baseballs will also receive a commemorative display rack to house their collection. The final 10th Anniversary Photo-Baseball giveaway is scheduled for Friday, August 29th as the Pelicans open a four-game series with the Kinston Indians at 7:05 PM.

Great seats are still available for the Pelicans seven remaining 2008 home games as well as the 2008 post-season presented by Burroughs & Chapin. For all seats, call the Pelicans at (843) 918-6000 or toll-free at (877) 918-TIXX, visit the BB&T Coastal Field Box Office or log on to MyrtleBeachPelicans.com.
