LAST WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS
@ St. John's (11/8): The Manchester Monarchs fell to the St. John's IceCaps, 5-2, as center Eric O'Dell scored a goal and two assists at Mile One Centre on Friday night. Defenseman Nick Deslauriers and right wing Scott Sabourin lit the lamp for the Monarchs. Left wing Jason Jaffrey, center John Albert, right wing Blair Riley, left wing Kael Mouillierat, and center Eric O'Dell found the back of the net for the IceCaps. Monarchs goaltender Martin Jones (8-2-2) took his second loss of the season stopping 27 out of 32 shots. IceCaps netminder Eddie Pasquale (6-5-0) earned his sixth win of the season making 28 saves on 30 shots. Manchester was 1-for-8 on the power play. St. John's went 1-for-5 with the man advantage.
@ St. John's (11/9): Right wing Brian O'Neill scored an unassisted, shorthanded goal with 13 seconds remaining in the game to give the Manchester Monarchs a 3-2 win over the St. John's IceCaps at Mile One Centre on Saturday night. Left wing Andy Andreoff and forward Hunter Bishop joined O'Neill on the scoreboard for the Monarchs. Center Patrice Cormier and left wing Kael Mouillierat scored for the IceCaps. Monarchs goaltender Martin Jones (9-2-2) earned his ninth win of the season stopping 31 out of 33 shots. IceCaps netminder Eddie Pasquale (6-6-0) took his sixth loss of the season making 31 saves on 34 shots. Manchester was 1-for-2 on the power play. St. John's went 1-for-5 with the man advantage.
MONARCHS NEWS & NOTES
The Manchester Monarchs (9-2-1-2) are ranked first in the Atlantic Division with 21 points. The Providence Bruins (7-4-0-2) are ranked second in the division with 16 points. The St. John's IceCaps (6-7-1-0) are in third place with 13 points. The Portland Pirates (4-5-0-1) are ranked fourth in the division with nine points. The Worcester Sharks (3-7-0-0) are in fifth place with six points. The Monarchs are ranked 15th in the American Hockey League on the power play with 10 goals on 57 attempts. Manchester is ranked 13th in the league on the penalty kill stopping their opponent 61-of-73 times.
Right wing Brandon Kozun (2-12=14) and center Jordan Weal (2-12=14) lead the Monarchs with 12 assists and 14 points each.
Kozun and Weal are tied for 14th place in the AHL with 14 points, and are tied for fourth in the league with 12 assists.
Kozun has collected eight points (1-7=8) in his last six games.
Kozun ranks in the top 10 all-time in the following Monarchs categories:
Goals - 71 - tied for fifth place
Assists - 93 - sixth place
Points - 164 - tied for fifth place
Power Play Goals - 24 - third place

Weal leads the Monarchs with a plus/minus rating of plus-8.
Right wing Tyler Toffoli (7-5=12) and center Linden Vey (3-8=11) were recalled by the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday, November 2.
Toffoli's seven goals are tied with left wing Tanner Pearson (7-4=11) for first on the Monarchs and tied for 10th in the AHL.
In three games with the Kings this season, Toffoli has two goals and three assists for five points.
Vey collected his first NHL point, an assist, against the Vancouver Canucks on November 9, 2013.
Pearson's 11 points (7-4=11) are tied with Vey for fourth place on the team.
Pearson is tied with defensemen Derek Forbort and Andrew Campbell for second place on the Monarchs with plus-7 ratings.
Defenseman Nick Deslauriers (5-4=9) registered a five-game point streak as he collected a point in each game from October 18, 2013- October 25, 2013 This is the longest point streak by a Monarchs player this season.
Deslauriers has four points (2-2=4) in his last four games.
Deslauriers nine points lead Monarchs defensemen and rank sixth on the team.
Defenseman Colin Miller (1-5=6) collected his first multi-point game as he picked up two assists in the Monarchs 5-2 loss to the IceCaps on Friday night.
Left wing Andy Andreoff (2-3=5) has two power play goals in his last three games.
Right wing Brian O'Neill (3-2=5) scored an unassisted, shorthanded goal with 13 seconds remaining in the game on Saturday night to give the Monarchs a 3-2 win over the IceCaps. His goal was the Monarchs first shorthanded tally of the season.
Forward Hunter Bishop (1-0=1) scored his first goal of the season in Manchester's 3-2 win over the IceCaps on Saturday night.
Goaltender Martin Jones earned his ninth win of the season with a 3-2 victory over the IceCaps on Saturday night. He has one shutout, six regulation victories, three shootout wins, two regulation losses, and two shootout losses.
After 13 games, Jones has a 9-2-2 record, a 2.24 goals-against-average and a .927 save percentage.
Jones ranks in the top 10 all-time in the following Monarchs goaltending categories:
Games played - 149 - first place
Wins - 77 - first place
