
Islanders, Sound Tigers Annoucne Roster Moves

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Nov. 13, 2013) - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today that they have signed forwards Chris Langkow and Sean Wiles to professional tryout contracts (PTOs). The team has also loaned forward Greg Miller to the Stockton Thunder (ECHL). Finally, the New York Islanders have reassigned forward Kirill Kabanov to Bridgeport while reassigning forward Jason Clark to Stockton.
Langkow, 24, has nine points (two goals, seven assists) with South Carolina (ECHL) this season. He appeared in seven games for the Sound Tigers in 2011-12 and picked up a goal and four assists. Prior to his professional career, Langkow skated for three different teams- Spokane, Saskatoon, and Everett- in the Western Hockey League.
Wiles, 26, has played in nine games for Reading (ECHL) this season and has four points (three goals, one assist). He signed a PTO with the Sound Tigers in 2012-13 and appeared in three games, picking up one goal and two assists. Wiles played two seasons with the Tri-City Storm in the USHL before four years at the University of Alaska-Anchorage.
Miller, 24, signed an AHL contract with the Sound Tigers at the end of last season following a four-year career at Cornell University. He appeared in nine AHL games with the Sound Tigers in 2013-14. Prior to attending Cornell, Miller split four seasons in the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League between the Toronto Thunderbirds and St. Michael's Buzzers, compiling 227 points (100 goals, 127 assists) in 189 games.
Kabanov, 21, had one goal in two games for the Sound Tigers before being reassigned to Stockton on Oct. 8. The Moscow native had nine points (two goals, seven assists) in his rookie year for the Sound Tigers In 2012-13. In nine games with the Thunder, he had eight points (four goals, four assists). Kabanov was drafted by the Islanders in the third round (65th overall) in 2010.
Clark, 21, was drafted by the Islanders in the third round (82nd overall) in 2010. In 11 games for the Sound Tigers this season, Clark notched one assist. He split time with the Sound Tigers and Gwinnett (ECHL) in 2012-13 after two years at the University of Wisconsin.
The Sound Tigers will in Springfield Friday night to take on the Falcons before returning home to face the Hartford Wolfpack Saturday at 7 p.m.
