LAST WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS
@ Binghamton (12/2): The Manchester Monarchs fell short against the Binghamton Senators, 4-1, at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena snapping the Monarchs six-game winning-streak on Friday night. Defenseman Patrick Mullen scored the lone goal for the Monarchs. The Senators received goals from left wing Mike Hoffman, defenseman Eric Bryba and right wings Andre Petersson and Mike Bartlett. Monarchs netminder Jeff Zatkoff took his third loss of the season stopping 22-of-25 shots. Goaltender Robin Lehner earned his fifth win of the season making 27 saves on 28 shots for the Senators. Manchester went 0-for-3 on the power play. Binghamton was 2-for-4 with the man advantage.
vs. Providence (12/3): The Manchester Monarchs extended their winning-streak at the Verizon Wireless Arena to six-games by defeating the Providence Bruins, 5-4, in a shootout on Saturday night. The Monarchs received goals from defenseman David Kolomatis, center Justin Azevedo, right wing Brandon Kozun and left wing David Meckler. The Bruins tallied goals from right wing Craig Cunningham, right wing Jordan Caron and center Josh Hennessy (two). Manchester received shootout goals from right wing Linden Vey, center Marc-Andre Cliche and right wing Jordan Nolan. Center Jamie Arniel scored the lone goal in the shootout for the Bruins. Monarchs netminder Martin Jones earned his eighth victory of the season stopping 37-of-41 shots in regulation and 3-of-4 shootout snipers. Bruins goaltender Anton Khudobin took his second shootout loss of the season making 34 saves on 38 shots in regulation and stopping 1-of-4 shootout attempts. Manchester went 2-for-7 on the power play. Providence was 2-for-6 with the man advantage.
vs. Worcester (12/4): The Manchester Monarchs extended their home winning-streak to seven games by knocking off the Worcester Sharks, 2-1, in a seven-round shootout on Sunday evening at the Verizon Wireless Arena. Left wing Dwight King scored the lone goal for the Monarchs in regulation. Left wing Tony Lucia scored the only regulation goal for the Sharks. The Monarchs received shootout goals from centers Marc-Andre Cliche, Justin Azevedo and Robbie Czarnik. The Sharks registered shootout goals from Lucia and forward Brodie Reid. Monarchs goaltender Jeff Zatkoff earned his sixth victory of the season stopping 38-of-39 shots in regulation and 5-of-7 shootout attempts. Sharks netminder Tyson Sexsmith took his third shootout loss of the season making 28 saves on 29 shots in regulation and stopped 4-of-7 shootout snipers. Manchester went 0-for-4 on the power play. Worcester also was 0-for-4 with the man advantage.
MONARCHS NEWS & NOTES The Manchester Monarchs (14-10-0-1) are in second place in the Atlantic Division with 29 points. The St. John's IceCaps (14-4-4-0) sit in first place in the division with 32 points. The Worcester Sharks (8-6-3-3) are tied with the Portland Pirates (10-10-1-1) for third place in the division with 22 points each. The Providence Bruins (8-14-1-2) are in fifth place in the division with 19 points. Atlantic Division
With wins against Providence on Saturday, December 3 and Worcester on Sunday, December 4, Manchester extended their winning-streak at the Verizon Wireless Arena to seven games. All seven wins have been decided by one goal.
The Monarchs had their six-game winning-streak overall snapped in a 4-1 loss to the Binghamton Senators at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena on Friday, December 2.
Manchester is 8-2-0-0 in their last 10 games.

Cliche is a perfect 4-for-4 in shootout attempts this season.
Center Justin Azevedo (5-8=13) is fourth on the Monarchs with 13 points. Azevedo tallied two points (1-1=2) in the 5-4 shootout win over the Bruins on Saturday night.
Defenseman David Kolomatis (4-7=11), rookie right wing Linden Vey (6-5=11) and left wing Dwight King (2-9=11) are tied for fifth place on the Monarchs roster with 11 points.
Kolomatis leads Monarchs defensemen in goals (four) and points (11), and is tied with defenseman Patrick Mullen (2-7=9) for the team lead with seven assists.
Mullen tallied his second goal of the season in a 4-1 loss to the Senators on Friday, December 2.
King has six points (1-5=6) in his last seven games and is currently on a three-game point-streak (1-2=3).
Monarchs right wing Brandon Kozun (6-4=10) is currently on a five-game point-streak (2-3=5).
Defenseman Slava Voynov (2-1=3) was called up to the Kings on Monday, November 14 and currently leads the team with a plus-5 rating. In 14 games with the Kings, Voynov has six points (3-3=6).
Goaltender Martin Jones owns an 8-7-0 record, a 2.53 goals-against-average and a .922 save percentage on the season for the Monarchs. Jones has won his last four starts.
Monarchs netminder Jeff Zatkoff has registered a 2.24 goals-against-average, a .929 save percentage and a record of 6-3-1 on the season. Zatkoff had a four-game winning-streak snapped against the Senators in a 4-1 loss on Friday, December 2.

Teddy Bear Toss/ Sing For Santa - Join the Monarchs as we celebrate the holiday season. Fans are encouraged to bring and throw a stuffed animal onto the ice after the Monarchs first goal on Sunday, December 11 at 3:00 p.m. when the Monarchs host the Portland Pirates. Fans in attendance to the game will have a chance to meet Santa, get their picture taken with him and hear the Sing For Santa concert.
