Canadiens Assign Andreas Engqvist to Bulldogs

MONTREAL, QUE (December 5, 2011) - Montreal Canadiens General Manager Pierre Gauthier announced today that forward Andreas Engqvist has been assigned by the Montreal Canadiens to the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Engqvist, 23, has played in eight games for Montreal this season, posting one shot, a +1 rating, two penalty minutes and 6:24 average time on ice. The 6-foot-4, 199-pound forward has played in seven games with the Hamilton Bulldogs this season, posting five points (3 goals, 2 assists), 11 shots, a + 2 rating and six penalty minutes. The native of Stockholm, Sweden was signed as a free agent by Habs in 2009 after playing for Djurgarden of the Swedish Elite League.

The Bulldogs continue their home stay on Tuesday, December 6th, at 7:30 p.m. when they face the Adirondack Phantoms at Copps Coliseum.
