
Monarchs Sign Koehler and Milam to Tryouts

MANCHESTER, NH â The Manchester Monarchs, the AHL affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, on Tuesday signed center Greg Koehler and defenseman Troy Milam to professional tryout agreements. Koehler, 28, has appeared in 37 games with the Elmira Jackals of the United Hockey League this season, recording 46 points (20-26=46) and 35 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound native of Scarborough, Ontario, has also appeared in 12 games with the AHL's San Antonio Rampage, recording three points (1-2=3) and four penalty minutes, and two games with the AHL's Syracuse Crunch, recording zero points and two penalty minutes.
Milam, 23, has appeared in 51 games with the ECHL's Gwinnett Gladiators this season, recording 30 points (6-24=30) and 36 penalty minutes. The 6-foot, 188-pound rookie from Lake Orion, Michigan, spent the last four years at Ferris State University, recording 79 points (21-58=79) and 217 penalty minutes in 155 games.
The Monarchs (25-21-4-3, 57 points) continue their season-long six game road swing through New England when they meet the Lowell Lock Monsters at 7 p.m. at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell on Wednesday, February 18. Their schedule also includes road games at Providence against the Bruins on Friday, February 20 at 7:05 p.m., and at Portland against the Pirates on Saturday, February 21 at 7:05 p.m. After that, they open a four-game homestand at the Verizon Wireless Arena against the Binghamton Senators on Monday, February 23. Monday's game against the Senators is scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. start.
