IceCats Recall Goalie From Peoria and Sign Goalie to PTO

WORCESTER, MA – St. Louis Blues Senior Vice President/General Manager and Worcester IceCats General Manager of Hockey Operations Larry Pleau announced today that the IceCats have recalled goaltender Levente Szuper from the IceCats ECHL affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen. Also today, the ‘Cats have signed goaltender Jake Moreland to a Professional Tryout Contract (PTO).

Szuper has participated in 17 games with the Illinois-based Rivermen this season, compiling a record of 11-5-1, with one shutout and a 2.52 goals against average. The Budapest, Hungary-born backstop also has a .907 save percentage. His latest action for the Rivermen came on Saturday, turning aside 26 of 28 shots in a 5-2 win over the Idaho Steelheads.

Szuper made his IceCats debut, in relief, on Saturday, October 18th in Binghamton, facing 16 shots. He's appeared in three games total for the IceCats this season, garnering record of 0-0-0 with a .821 save percentage and a 4.52 GAA.

The IceCats signed goaltender Jake Moreland to a PTO contract this afternoon. Moreland, a native of Grand Forks, North Dakota, has appeared in 16 games for the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL. The first-year pro has a record of 9-3-1 with a .913 save percentage and a 2.62 goals against average.

The IceCats are on the road for three games, before returning to Worcester's Centrum Centre for a 7:05 face off with the Lowell Lock Monsters on Friday, February 27th.
