Manchester Monarchs News Release
MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs fell to the Worcester Railers, Friday night, by a score of 4-2, at SNHU arena.
The Monarchs (2-3-0-1) scored late with the goalie pulled, but could not complete the comeback against the Railers (3-2-0-0).
The Monarchs opened the scoring at 5:25 of the first period, when Tony Cameranesi scored his fifth goal of the season. Cameranesi one timed a rebound shot by David Kolomatis, past the glove of Railers goaltender, Evan Buitenhuis, to give the Monarchs a 1-0 lead.
The Railers answered at 11:26 in the second period, making the score 1-1, with a 5-on -3 power-play goal scored by Nick Bligh, earning his second goal of the season. After a shot from Railers Woody Hudson, Bligh slammed a wrist shot home in front of the crease, past Monarchs goaltender, Charles Williams.
The Monarchs gained the lead at 17:30 of the second period, with a power-play goal by Tony Cameransei, tallying his second goal of the night and sixth this season. Cameransei skated through the Railers zone and sent a pass to Nick Moutrey, where Moutrey immediately sent the puck back to Cameransei, as he ripped a shot past Buitenhuis, to make the score, 2-1.
The Railers responded just moments after at 18:40 in the second period, when Josh Holmstrom scored his third of the season. Mike Cornell skated into the Monarchs zone and centered a past to Holmstrom, skating in front of the Monarchs net. Holmstrom then slipped a shot past Williams glove, to even the game up, 2-2.
The Railers took the lead at 3:35 of the third period, with a goal by Woody Hudson earning his first goal of the season. Dylan Willick sent a back-handed shot on Williams, where he attempted to cover the puck up, but Hudson beat him to it, and wristed a shot into the back of the goal, to give the Railers a 3-2 lead.
The Railers extended their lead at 10:08 in the third period, with a goal from Bryan Arneson, his first goal of the season. Hudson skated up the right wing and centered a pass to Arneson, where he snapped a wrist shot past Williams, to make the score, 4-2.
The Monarchs cut the lead down to 4-3, with a goal from Colton Saucerman at 18:44 of the third period, scoring his first goal of the year. Saucerman received a pass from Kolomatis and snapped a wrist shot from the top of the zone, to beat Buitenhuis over his shoulder, to complete the scoring.
