Struck Oil: The Mavericks have enjoyed success against the Tulsa Oilers, owning a sizeable advantage in the all-time series. Of late, Kansas City went 6-2 versus Tulsa a year ago and has won 13 of 19 matchups over the past two seasons.

Not Lonely At The Top: The Mavericks and Oilers find themselves near the top of the league standings, entering tonight's game with five points on the young season. Kansas City and Tulsa are two of just four teams in the league without a regulation loss on the year, and their .833 point percentage puts both squads at third-best in the ECHL.

Elementary, My Dear Watson: Cliff Watson did not wait long to make an impact, scoring a goal in his first game with the Mavericks last weekend at Rapid City. The defenseman was an offseason signing who earned a spot on the Stockton Heat's season-opening roster following a strong camp.

Carzo's 200th: Rocco Carzo netted his 200th-career ECHL point in the Mavs' overtime loss at Rapid City on Sunday, scoring the game-tying goal with just 15 seconds left in the contest. The captain has 76 career goals to go with 124 assists.

Off The Schneids: Nick Schneider has gotten off to a hot start on the year, coming into tonight's game ranked sixth in the league for GAA among goalies who have made multiple appearances. The rookie is in his first professional season, having completed his junior tenure last year with the WHL's Calgary Hitmen.
