Monarchs Announce Roster Moves

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, have signed forward Hunter Bishop and defenseman Matt Case to professional tryout agreements, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.

Bishop, 25, has registered 24 goals and 25 assists for 48 points and 20 penalty minutes for the ECHL's South Carolina Stingrays this season. The six-foot, 196-pound forward has been held scoreless in three games with the American Hockey League's Lake Erie Monsters and one game with the Rochester Americans earlier this season. The Fairbanks, Alaska native has appeared in 47 career AHL games registering six goals and seven assists for 13 point and 10 penalty minutes with the Hamilton Bulldogs, Monsters and Americans. Bishop missed the entire 2011-12 season due to injury. The forward played two years for NCAA's Ohio State University Buckeyes recording 29 goals and 29 assists for 58 points and 40 penalty minutes from 2008-2010. Bishop will don No. 11 for the Monarchs.

Case, 27, has collected six goals and 29 assists for 35 points and 31 penalty minutes for the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads this season. The six-foot, 200-pound defenseman leads the Steelheads in assists (29) and in plus/minus with a plus-31. Case has appeared in 171 ECHL games registering 12 goals and 45 assists for 57 points and 155 penalty minutes for the Gwinnett Gladiators and Steelheads. Case has appeared in 11 career AHL games recording an assist and six penalty minutes with the Norfolk Admirals and the Texas Stars. The Plymouth, Minnesota native played four years for NCAA's Ferris State University Bulldogs recording 10 goals and 37 assists for 47 points and 139 penalty minutes in 144 games from 2006-2010. Case will don No. 10 for the Monarchs.
