St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced the club has placed forward Vladimir Tarasenko on injured reserve today. Tarasenko was injured during the third period Wednesday in Colorado. In addition, the club recalled forward Chris Porter from the Blues' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, Peoria Rivermen.

Porter, 28, registered 10 points in 11 games since joining the Rivermen on Jan. 19. His seven goals over that stretch were the most on the team. He leaves Peoria after becoming the leader in games played all-time in Peoria's AHL history with 283. He also ranks among the top-10 in goals (48), assists (74), points (122), penalty minutes (273) and game-winning goals (10).

He appeared in a career-high 47 games for the Blues last season recording seven points (four goals, three assists). Overall, the 6'1", 210-pound forward has played in 98 career National Hockey League (NHL) games, all with the Blues, posting 16 points (eight goals, eight assists) and 27 penalty minutes.

The Toronto, Ontario native was originally drafted by Chicago in the ninth round, 282nd overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He was signed by the Blues as a free agent on Aug. 21, 2007.
