Tom Sestito Loaned to Phantoms

February 22, 2013 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Adirondack Phantoms News Release

The Adirondack Phantoms have announced that forward Tom Sestito has been loaned to the Adirondack Phantoms by the Philadelphia Flyers. Sestito will wear #32 and is eligible to play in Friday night's game against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

Sestito recently had a two-goal game with the Philadelphia Flyers on February 5, 2013 in a 3-2 win over Tampa Bay. The goals were his first ever with the Flyers and just the third and fourth of his NHL career. He scored both times with impressive forehand-to-backhand moves on the goalie.

The Rome, NY native has 11 goals in 45 games in two previous seasons with the Adirondack Phantoms including 9 goals last year in 34 games.

He has played in 7 games with the Flyers this year but none so far with the Phantoms. He spent the majority of the NHL lockout playing in England with the Sheffield Steelers where he scored 8 goals and 11 assist in 17 games. Originally drafted in the third-round by the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2006, Sestito was traded to the Flyers organization on February 27, 2011 in exchange for Greg Moore and Michael Chaput.

Tom Sestito is the younger brother of Albany and New Jersey Devil forward Tim Sestito.
