Monarchs Announce Flurry of Roster Moves

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach, Rich Seeley, announced today that Michael Houser has been recalled by the Ontario Reign, Matt White has been loaned to the Milwaukie Admirals (AHL), Joel Lowry has been assigned to the Monarchs by Ontario, Steve Mastalerz has been signed to an Amateur Tryout Agreement and Joe Houk has been signed to a Standard Player Contract.

Houser, a 6-foot-2, 192-pound goaltender, has played in 11 games for the Monarchs this season, earning an 8-3-0-0 record, while posting a 2.63 GAA and a 0.913 save percentage.

The Youngstown, Ohio native, signed a one-year contract with the Ontario Reign (AHL) on September 14, 2015 after his three-year entry-level contract with the Florida Panthers expired.

White, a 5-foot-10, 185-pound forward, has played in all 19 games for the Monarchs this season, scoring 22 points on 10 goals and 12 assists. White's 22 points had him tied for 5th place in the ECHL, and his 10 goals were good enough to be tied for 3rd in the league.

White, a Whittier, Calif. native, played the past two seasons in Ontario (ECHL), scoring117 points on 50 goals and 67 assists.

Lowry, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound forward, has played in five games for the Reign this season without recording a point. The Calgary, Alberta native, was a 5th round selection (140th overall) by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, and played four seasons for Cornell University before signing a two-year entry-level contract with the Kings.

Mastalerz, a 6-foot-2, 205-pound goaltender, is back with the Monarchs for the second time this season. Mastalerz participated in training camp this season for the Monarchs, as well as being signed to an ATO during the AHL Monarchs Calder Cup run. The North Andover, Mass. native, played collegiately at UMass-Amherst (H-East).

Houk, a 6-foot, 205-pound defenseman, played in seven games this season for the Elmira Jackals (ECHL) recording one assist. Last season, Houk played in 39 games split between the Toledo Walleye (ECHL) and Jackals, totaling 13 points on two goals and 11 assists.

The Richboro, Penn. native, played two seasons at UMass-Lowell, playing in 74 games and scoring 19 points on four goals and 15 assists.

Lowry, Mastalerz, Houk and the Monarchs are back on the ice tonight (7 p.m.) at the Jungle, as they begin a three-game set against the Reading Royals in a divisional matchup.
