December 4, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Adirondack Thunder News Release

TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: Tonight's matchup completes a home-and-home series between Adirondack and Brampton, as the Thunder skated to a dominant 4-0 victory over the Beast last evening at the Powerade Centre in Brampton, ONT. This is the third time overall the teams are meeting this season, with Adirondack claiming both of the previous two, and the first meeting in Glens Falls. The Thunder have lost just two of their past 10 entering tonight's action and are a perfect 6-0-0-0 against teams in the North Division, including Brampton.

GOT A LITTLE CAPTAIN IN HIM: Forward Rob Bordson made his return to the Adirondack Thunder lineup in a big way on Thursday, as he collected three points (1-2-3) in Adirondack's 4-0 victory. The Thunder center collected points on each of Adirondack's first three goals, including a redirected finish to give his team in a commanding 3-0 lead midway through the second period. With 16 points (8-8-16) in eight games this season, Bordson leads all Thunder scorers in both goals and points.

READY, SET, SILEN-GO: Forward Jeff Silengo continued his scoring streak with two more goals in last night's win in Brampton. Skating on a new line with Bordson and Michael Kirkpatrick, Silengo scored the Thunder's first two goals to increase his season total to four in just three games played. Silengo now has the game winning goal in the past two games and has scored in each game since he's played since he returned from injury last week.

SHUTOUT CITY: Ken Appleby turned aside all 29 shots he faced last evening en route to his second shutout of the season. The Thunder have not allowed a goal in their past two games, including Drew Fielding's 32-save effort at home on Sunday as Adirondack took down Greenville 2-0. As a unit, the Thunder have not allowed a goal in their past 142:36 of game action, their longest shutout streak of the season to date.

SEIZING POWER: The Thunder power play got back on track as they struck twice in last night's win. With the two-goal effort, Adirondack has now collected multiple power-play goals in six games this season. Defensemen Patch Alber and Ryan Culkin both collected their first power-play assists of the season on the Thunder's second man advantage marker. The Thunder power play has converted at a 25 percent clip away from home, ranking third best in the ECHL.

CH-CH-CHANGES: The Thunder have shuffled their roster over the past week, most notably adding two key forwards, with the return of team captain Rob Bordson and the send down of New Jersey Devils draft pick Ben Johnson from Albany. The Thunder have also lost three forwards to the AHL, most recently Kyle Flanagan, who signed his first AHL PTO of the season with the Binghamton Senators yesterday. Greg Wolfe and Alex Carrier also remain in the AHL with Albany.
