
Americans Acquire Big Defenseman from Wheeling

Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans acquired defenseman Mike Gunn from the Wheeling Nailers this afternoon for future considerations.
Mike Gunn, played in ten games for Wheeling this season and had two points and ten penalty minutes overall. The 6-3, 210 pound blueliner from Livonia, Michigan played three seasons of college hockey at Northeastern University. He also had three seasons in the USHL with Youngstown Phantoms and Chicago Steel.
"He's a strong defenseman and just what we were looking for, said Allen Americans Head Coach and GM Steve Martinson. He was a plus ten in ten game for Wheeling."
The Americans are back in action tonight against the Rapid City Rush as Allen begins a four-game home stand. The Americans welcome the Utah Grizzlies to town tomorrow night, and then Idaho is here for games on December 9th and 13th.
