Game Notes: December 4 vs. Greenville

The Overview: The Cyclones look to bounce back from a tough defeat at the hand of the Greenville Swamp Rabbits from Thursday night. It's been a tough road for the Cyclones as of late, who are winless in their last three overall (0-2-0-1) and have just one win in their last five games.

Last Night Recap: The Cincinnati Cyclones (10-5-2-2) dropped a 4-3 decision to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits on Thursday night. Forward Zach Budish scored a pair of goals, while forward Jack Downing netted one for the Cyclones. Cincinnati outshot Greenville, 28-27, while the power play converted on one of three opportunities.

Tuesday Recap: The Cincinnati Cyclones (10-4-2-2) fell to the Quad City Mallards, 2-1 in the shootout, on Tuesday night. Forward Peter Quenneville tallied the lone goal for the Cyclones, who fall to 1-4 this season in games decided by overtime or a shootout. It was another solid performance from goaltender Brad Thiessen who stopped 22 of the 23 shots he faced in the loss. Cincinnati outshot Quad City, 28-23 on the night, while the power play was held scoreless on all seven opportunities.

Saturday Recap: The Cincinnati Cyclones (10-4-2-1) dropped a 2-1 decision to the Quad City Mallards on Saturday night. Forward Zach Budish scored the lone goal for the Cyclones, who fall into a two-way tie with the Mallards for the lead in the Midwest Division. The Cyclones out shot Quad City, 31-29, in the contest, while the power play was held scoreless on all three chances. Goaltender Brad Thiessen stopped 27 shots in the loss.

Previewing Greenville: The Swamp Rabbits have won five of their last seven games, and are slowly climbing the ladder in the South Division, sitting in a tie for third place with the Atlanta Gladiators. Former Cyclone Jack Combs leads the Swamp Rabbits in scoring, accounting for nine goals and 11 assists through 17 games. He's followed by forward Scott Fleming, (7g, 9a), and Ryan Rashid (6g, 7a), who each had a goal and an assist in last night's win.

Inside the Series: This is the second of two meetings this season between Greenville and Cincinnati, with Greenville taking the opener on Thursday night. These two sides met four times last season with Greenville taking each matchup, and have met a total of 20 times, with Greenville holding a 12-4-3 record in those contests.

Next Game Preview: The Cyclones wrap up their three game road trip next Friday, December 11, against the Evansville IceMen. Friday marks the second of nine matchups this season, with Cincinnati winning the opener back on November 7, 2-1.
