Peoria Rivermen News Release
Peoria, Ill. (November 18, 2004) â Director of Ticket Sales Wendy Mitchell of the Peoria Rivermen of the ECHL announced today that MLS stars and former Bradley University standouts Bryan Namoff and Tim Regan will headline the team's first-ever "Stanley Steemer Central Illinois Soccer Night with the Peoria Rivermen" on Friday, December 3, as they take on the Wheeling Nailers at 7:30 p.m. at Carver Arena.
Namoff, who just finished his fourth season with the MLS' D.C. United, was a member of the MLS Cup 2004 Championship Team that defeated the Kansas City Wizards 3-2. In shutting down Kansas City's Josh Wolff in the MLS Cup 2004, the 25-year-old native of Carson City, Nev. was named to the MLS Cup 2004 Championship Series All-Star Team. While at Bradley, he became the second two-time First Team All-Midwest Region selection (1999 and 2000) in school history, and the two-time Missouri Valley Conference First Team selection (1999 and 2000) finished his four-year career at Bradley with 81 points and 32 goals, which placed him second on Bradley's all-time list.
Regan, who just finished his second season with the MLS' New York/New Jersey MetroStars, is one of just three players in Bradley Braves history to earn four All-Conference awards, joining current MLS players Gavin Glinton (Dallas Burn) and Namoff. A 23-year-old native of Orland Hills, IL, Regan played and started a school-record 83 games for the Braves and Head Coach Jim DeRose.
Namoff and Regan will sign autographs on the main concourse outside Section 6 from 6:30-9:00 p.m.
Peoria Notre Dame High School â 2004 IHSA AA State Boys Soccer Champions â will also be on hand and recognized during the second intermission.
The first 750 children 12 and under with a paid admission will receive a regulation Peoria Rivermen/Stanley Steemer Soccer Ball. There will also be special soccer challenges ongoing throughout the game for kids in attendance.
The Peoria Rivermen are a proud affiliate of the NHL's St. Louis Blues and a member of the ECHL â America's Premier "AA" Hockey League. Group and season tickets are available by calling 309.676.1040.
