
Minnesota Reassigns Kuemper to Iowa

Des Moines, IA - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Saturday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned goaltender Darcy Kuemper to the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL) and activated goaltender Niklas Backstrom from the Injured Reserve List.
Backstrom, 35 (2/13/78), was injured on Nov. 13 against Toronto and is 1-1-2 with a 3.30 goals-against average (GAA) and a .874 save percentage (SV%) in seven games (six starts) with the Wild this season.
Kuemper, 23 (5/5/90), was recalled by Minnesota on Nov. 18 and appeared in Tuesday's game at Montreal in relief of Josh Harding and allowed three goals on nine shots. He is 3-7-0 with a 2.97 GAA and a .908 SV% in 10 games with Iowa this season and 0-1-0 in two games (one start) with Minnesota.
The Wild concludes its homestand with Abbotsford on Nov. 23 at 7:05 p.m. and Nov. 24 at 5:05 p.m. Saturday night is Veterans Appreciation Night and there is a Helmets to Hardhats Auction.
