Syracuse Crunch Shut Out 3-0 by the Hamilton Bulldogs

Syracuse, NY - The Syracuse Crunch were shut out for the first time this season, 3-0, by Dustin Tokarski and the Hamilton Bulldogs tonight at the War Memorial Arena.

Crunch netminder Cedrick Desjardins stopped 30 of 33 shots while Hamilton Bulldogs goaltender Tokarski stopped all 43 shots faced.

The Crunch fall to 9-6-1-1 on the season and are 0-2 in the series with the Hamilton Bulldogs. The Crunch failed to convert on five man- advantage opportunities and allowed the Bulldogs to score on three of seven power-play chances.

After a scoreless first period Hamilton forward Christian Thomas put the Bulldogs on the board with a power-play goal 2:39 into the second period. Fed from Martin St. Pierre, Thomas put the puck past Desjardins with a shot from the left circle. Nathan Beaulieu had the secondary assist. Greg Pateryn found the back of the net with a slapshot from the left side blue line for the Bulldogs' second power-play goal of the evening with 12:42 left in the second. Assists were credited to Drew Schiestel and Louis Leblanc.

Beaulieu gave the Bulldogs their third goal on the man-advantage 13:13 into the final frame. Beaulieu's shot from the right circle, assisted by St. Pierre and Thomas, led to the final score of 3-0.

The Syracuse Crunch travel to face off against the Binghamton Senators Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
