
Minnesota Reassigns Dalpe to Iowa

DES MOINES, IA - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Friday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned center Zac Dalpe to the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Minnesota also placed right wing Brett Bulmer and defenseman Tyson Strachan on waivers. They will be assigned to Iowa on Saturday if they clear waivers.
Dalpe, 25 (11/1/89), has totaled 20 points (10-10=20) in 117 NHL games during parts of five seasons with Carolina, Vancouver and Buffalo (2010-15). The 6-foot-2, 200-pound center led Rochester (AHL) in goals (16) and ranked third in shots (135), totaling 28 points in 48 games in 2014-15. The native of Paris, Ont., was signed as a free agent by Minnesota on July 1Â and was originally selected by Carolina in the second round (45th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
Bulmer, 23 (4/26/92), recorded 16 points (4-12=16) and 50 penalty minutes (PIM) in 53 games with the Iowa Wild in the American Hockey League (AHL) last season. The 6-foot-4, 212-pound native of Prince George, B.C., has tallied three assists and eight penalty minutes in 14 career NHL contests with the Minnesota Wild.
Strachan, 30 (10/30/84), recorded five assists and 44 PIM in 46 games with the Buffalo Sabres last season and set career highs in games played, points, assists, PIM, blocked shots (105) and TOI/game (18:59). The 6-foot-3, 215-pound native of Melfort, Sask., collected two assists in 18 games with the Washington Capitals and 19 points (4-15=19) and 56 PIM in 60 matches with the Hershey Bears in the American Hockey League (AHL) in 2013-14. He owns 20 points (1-19=20) and 199 PIM in 184 career NHL contests in parts of seven seasons (2008-15) with St. Louis, Florida, Washington and Buffalo. Strachan has tallied 87 points (16-71=87) and 326 PIM in 276 career AHL matches. He was originally selected by the Carolina Hurricanes in the fifth round (137thoverall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and played four seasons at Ohio State University (2003-07).
Iowa also released tryout players G Adam Morrison, D Brian O'Rourke and D Kevin Gibson.
The Iowa Wild plays a pair of preseason games, both will be in North Dakota against the Manitoba Moose -the Winnipeg Jets AHL club. Iowa and Manitoba meet in Grand Forks, ND on Fri. Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. The two teams will play a second preseason game in Fargo, ND on Sat. Oct. 3 at 7 p.m.
Iowa hosts Opening Night on Saturday, October 10th when the Charlotte Checkers come to town. The puck drops at 7 p.m. The Wild hosts a pregame tailgate party outside of Wells Fargo Arena from 4-6:30 p.m., celebrating the team's third season in Des Moines. The first 5,000 fans to the game receive an Iowa Wild Cling Schedule, presented by Hicklin Garage, KXNO 1460, and The Bus 100.3. The Wild also hosts Charlotte again on Sunday at 5 p.m. Sunday's game is Kid's Opening Night and the first 2,500 fans to the game receive an Iowa Wild poster schedule.
Iowa begins its third season in the AHL this fall. The team will host Opening Night on Saturday, Oct. 10. Fans may purchase single-game tickets multiple ways, either through the team's website - www.Iowawild.com, the Wells Fargo Arena box office or participating Hy-Vee food stores. Tickets are available online at www.Iowawild.com under the single game tickets tab. The Wells Fargo Arena box office is open Monday - Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and closed on Sunday. For Saturday game days, the box office will open at 10 a.m. For Sunday game days the box office will open at 12 p.m. Fans may also purchase tickets by calling 1-844-55-HYVEE or by visiting participating Hy-Vee food stores locations in the greater Des Moines area. The Iowa Wild 2015-16 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center, it runs from October through April. Fans may purchase seats to see any of the team's 38 regular season home games at Wells Fargo Arena.
