Albany Devils News Release

WILKES-BARRE, PA -- Joseph Blandisi has picked up where he left off. After a 112 point season, including a league-leading 52 goals, with Barrie of the OHL in 2014-15, the rookie has three points in a pair of AHL preseason games. He had two assist Thursday night at the Hershey Bears and followed with a goal in the Albany Devils 2-1 overtime loss at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins Friday.

Blandisi, who signed as a free agent with the New Jersey Devils organization in January, made it a 1-1 game with an unassisted goal at 8:26 of the third period.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's Conor Sheary had given his team the lead at 7:50 of the second. Kael Mouillierat netted the game-winner with just 25 seconds remaining in the extra frame.

Scott Wedgewood suffered the loss despite making 33 saves. He denied Anton Zlobin on a penalty shot at 1:16 of the second period. At the other end, Tristan Jarry made 19 stops.

Albany's penalty kill, which went 6-for-6 Friday, finishes the preseason perfect with a 10-for-10 mark.

Next up, the Devils open the 2015-16 campaign on the road Saturday, Oct. 10 against the Binghamton Senators at 7:05 pm. Fans can listen to that game online at ahllive.com.
