Mike Jarmuth recalled from Trenton

BRIDGEPORT, CT - The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have recalled defenseman Mike Jarmuth from loan to the ECHL's Trenton Titans.

Jarmuth signed as a free agent with the Sound Tigers this past summer and was sent to Trenton after attending training camp with both the Islanders and Sound Tigers this fall. The 23-year-old, 6'0'' 205-pounder from Monkton, Ontario posted 13 goals, 23 assists, 36 points and 24 penalty minutes in 72 games last season as a rookie with the ECHL's Mississippi Sea Wolves. Jarmuth also had two assists and two penalty minutes in eight games with the United Hockey League's Kalamazoo Wings at the end of the 2003-04 season after completing his four-year (2000-04) collegiate career at Western Michigan University of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. He totaled 13 goals, 56 assists and 69 points in 143 career games at Western Michigan.

The Sound Tigers will finish a season-opening stretch of four straight road games when they visit the Binghamton Senators this Saturday at 7:05 p.m. They will open the home portion of the schedule next Saturday and Sunday, October 22nd and 23rd when they host the Portland Pirates that Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins that Sunday at 4:05 p.m.
