
Admirals Set for Big Opening Night

MILWAUKEE, WI - The Milwaukee Admirals have invited several local celebrities to take part in intermission activities at the club's home opener on Friday, October 14 at the Bradley Center, it was announced today by President Jon Greenberg.
Eight Milwaukee media stars will take part in the charity goal shootout during the intermission between the second and third periods. The winner will receive $1,000 for the charity of their choice. Each runner-up will receive $100 for their charity.
The contestants in the charity shootout are Jim Stingl, columnist for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel; Jim Powell, Milwaukee Brewers Play-by-Play broadcaster; Scott Dolphin, FM-106 Radio, morning show host; Joe Gehl of WISN-TV (12); Susan Kim of WTMJ-TV (4); Mike Strehlow of WDJT-TV (58); Bill Johnson of ESPN Radio 1510 days/1290 nights; Erin Leffelman of Play In The City.com and Gene Mueller of 94.5-FM WKTI Radio.
In addition, the popular Human Hockey Puck presented by Uncle Ben's will feature a celebrity and charity component. The Human Hockey Puck is a huge slingshot that propels a fearless contestant across the Bradley Center ice toward a series of bowling pins with the winner knocking down the most pins.
The contestants in the Opening Night competition will be a pair of talk show hosts as Charlie Sykes and Bill Michaels of WTMJ-AM radio (620) will square off with the winner receiving $250 for their favorite charity and the runner-up getting $100.
Both the Star Spangled Banner and Oh Canada will be performed prior to the 7:05 pm contest between the Admirals and the Manitoba Moose. Milwaukee's finest Elvis impersonator, Tom Green will perform the American anthem while Rhonda Begos will sing the Canadian anthem.
New Admirals owner Harris Turer will formally dedicate the Jane Bradley Pettit Rink during the pre-game ceremonies expected to begin at 6:55 pm. The full Admirals roster will also be announced prior to the game.
Ticket prices range from $15-$19 and are available at the Bradley Center ticket office from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, through Ticketmaster at (414) 276-4545 or through the Admirals website at www.milwaukeeadmirals.com.
