Rio Grande Valley Vipers News Release

HIDALGO, Texas - The NBA Development League announced today that Rio Grande Valley Vipers forward Mike Harris is the NBA Development League performer of the week for games played from January 11-through-17.

While leading the Vipers to a 2-1 record, Harris averaged 34.3 points, and 14.0 rebounds per game while hitting 40-of-67 shots (.597).

Harris set career-highs with 48 points and 24 rebounds in Sunday's 126-116 overtime win at Dakota. The 48 points is the second-highest single-game total in franchise history and the highest single-game total in the league this season. The 24 rebounds tie the franchise record and the single-game high in the league this season.

Harris led the Vipers in scoring in all three games, with 27 points on Wednesday against Albuquerque and 28 points on Thursday also against Albuquerque. The forward out of Rice is currently second in the NBA D- League in scoring with 27.5 points per game.

Harris becomes the second Viper to earn NBA Development Performer of the Week honors this season after Antonio Anderson received the award on January 4. Harris is the third Viper to ever earn the honor. Desmon Farmer was the first, on March 31, 2008.
