Bighorns Acquire Korolev From Albuquerque

RENO, Nev.-The Reno Bighorns have acquired 6-9 forward Yaroslav Korolev from the Albuquerque Thunderbirds in exchange for forward Marcus Hubbard, the team announced today. Korolev was the 12th overall selection in the 2005 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers.

Korolev, Albuquerque's fourth-round selection in the 2009 NBA D-League Draft, is averaging 11.3 points and 5.8 boards per game this season. He has recorded three double-doubles, and has registered double figures in scoring 14 times in the 2009-10 season. The native of Moscow scored 16 points with six rebounds and three steals against Reno earlier this month.

The Los Angeles Clippers selected Korolev with their first-round pick in the 2005 NBA Draft. With the Clippers, Korolev would go on to play in 34 NBA games over the next two seasons, averaging 1.1 points.

Hubbard joined the Bighorns in a post-draft trade with Rio Grande Valley. With Reno, Hubbard averaged 9.9 points and 6.4 rebounds.

The Bighorns return home on Saturday, Jan. 30 for a two-game weekend series with the Flash.
