ALBUQUERQUE, NM, Jan. 19, 2010 - The Albuquerque Thunderbirds have acquired Marcus Hubbard from the Reno Bighorns in exchange for Yaroslav Korolev. Hubbard attended Angelo State, earning NCAA D-II All-American honorable mention honors in 2007.

"Marcus is a versatile forward that can hit the three and crash the boards hard," said head coach John Coffino. "He bolsters our inside game and adds another dimension with his perimeter shooting. He'll have a great opportunity to come in and have an immediate impact."

Through 17 games with Reno this year, Hubbard is averaging 9.9 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. He has posted season highs of 20 points and 18 rebounds this season.

Hubbard appeared in 41 total games for Dakota and Rio Grande Valley during the 2008-09 season, scoring in double-figures on 14 occasions. He played with the NBA D-League Select Team during the 2009 NBA Summer League, and spent time with the Atlanta Hawks during the 2008 pre-season.

Hubbard will make his Thunderbirds debut on Jan. 20 when the team takes on the Bakersfield Jam at Tingley Coliseum. The team will also host games on Friday, Jan. 22 and Saturday, Jan. 23. All games tip-off at 7 pm.

You can bring your group out to the game for as low as $4 per ticket. Call 505.265.3865 or visit www.abqtbirds.com for more information.
