
Midfielder Saphir Taider Called up by Algeria

MONTREAL - Midfielder Saphir Taïder has been selected by the Algerian national team to take part in two 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualification games, against Benin on Friday, October 12, in Algiers, Algeria, and then on Tuesday, October 16, in Cotonou, Benin.
Taïder, 26, has scored five goals in 43 games with the Algerian national team, making his international debut in a FIFA World Cup qualifying game against Benin, recording one goal and one assist, on March 26, 2013. He helped Algeria reach the round of 16 at the 2014 World Cup and the quarterfinals at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
