
Mets Sign of Jason Botts, Assign to Bisons

The New York Mets announced that they have signed OF JASON BOTTS to a minor league contract and assigned him to the Bisons. Botts will be active for the Herd's 7:15 p.m. game against the Indianapolis Indians.
Botts, 30, went to Spring Training with the Colorado Rockies but was released prior to the season. He signed on with the York Revolution of the independent Atlantic League and hit .370 (20-54) with four home runs and 13RBI in 14 games.
Botts spent the 2010 season with Triple-A Syracuse and hit .279 (77-276) with 20 doubles, eight home runs and 48RBI in 80 games. He played 93 major league games with the Texas Rangers from 2005-2008.
