Rain Causes Havoc in Columbus
May 20, 2011 - International League (IL1)
Pawtucket Red Sox News Release
After a rain delay of 31 minutes on Thursday night in Ohio, the PawSox and Clippers finally got started. It didn't take long for the fireworks to start. Josh Reddick homered in the top of the first against Mitch Talbot and Jason Kipnis and Cord Phelps promptly returned the favor, hitting back to back round trippers against Brandon Duckworth in the bottom of the inning. With the Clippers leading 2-1, the skies opened up again after 3 and a half innings, causing another rain delay. After roughly an hour and ten minutes, the game was suspended.
The game is scheduled to resume on Friday at 5:05 p.m. It will be played to a nine inning conclusion. After that, the teams will play a seven inning ballgame.
