Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
After a rainout last night (to be made up as a part of a doubleheader August 1), the first-place IronPigs (24-16) play the finale of a rain-shortened, three-game series against the second-place Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees (21-17) at PNC Field in Moosic. With a 5-4 win in 11 innings on Wednesday, the Pigs have won three straight games and are now at a franchise-best, high-water mark of eight games above .500. The Pigs have also won eight of their last 10 games and, over a longer span, are 17-8 in their last 25 contests...
The Yankees -- New York's top affiliate -- have dropped three in a row (for just the second time this season) and are just 7-11 in their last 18 affairs since starting 14-6 on April 27. SWB has not lost four in a row since 7/21-7/24/10...
First-Pitch tonight is at 6:35 p.m.
