Cranbrook, BC - The Calgary Hitmen opened a season-high seven game road trip with a 5-0 win over the Kootenay ICE on Friday night at Western Financial Place.

Rookie goaltender Jack McNaughton, in just his 11th career Western Hockey League appearance, made 19 saves to record his first career shutout.

Ryder Korczak scored twice for Calgary with Mark Kastelic and Jake Kryski both adding a goal and an assist. Dakota Krebs rounded out the scoring for the visitors with Egor Zamula and Cael Zimmerman each chipping in a pair of assists.

The Hitmen outshot the ICE 42-19 to pick up their second straight victory while improving to 2-1 against Kootenay this season.

Calgary will now head to Spokane tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 17 for their only meeting with the Chiefs. The trip will also see Calgary face Everett (Nov. 20), Portland (Nov. 21), Seattle (Nov. 23) and Tri-City (Nov. 24) before wrapping up in Red Deer on Nov. 30.

The Hitmen won't be back in the Scotiabank Saddledome until Saturday, Dec. 1 when they host the Edmonton Oil Kings.
