Tonight... The Blades play their last Saturday home game of 2018 in the only meeting of the regular season with the Tri-City Americans. It's game #2 of a 3-game home stand for the Blades before heading out on their biennial B.C. road trip beginning next Saturday in Prince George. Meanwhile, this is the final stop for Tri-City on their East Division road trip, and their 11th straight road game. So far on their trip through the East Division they're 2-3... the Blades are 1-1 against U.S. Division teams this season.
The last game... Nolan Maier made 37 saves to earn his 11th win of the season in a 4-2 victory over the Medicine Hat Tigers on Tuesday night at SaskTel Centre. Max Gerlach (14), Kyle Crnkovic (1), Chase Wouters (3), and Kirby Dach (12) all scored for the Blades, Eric Florchuk had 2 assists. Meanwhile, the Americans are coming off a 3-1 loss last night in Prince Albert to the Raiders. Krystof Hrabik (6) scored the lone goal for Tri-City... Beck Warm stopped 27/29 shots in goal.
Head to head... The Blades won last season's meeting in Kennewick, WA., by a score of 5-2. Over the past 10 seasons, the Blades and Americans are 5-5. Kirby Dach's 35 points lead the Blades' offense while 20-year-old Nolan Yaremko's 26 points are tops in Tri-City.
