CHECKING THE RIVALRY
The Mavericks are facing the Thunder tonight for the first of 13 meetings this season and the first of six at INTRUST Bank Arena. Missouri has a 16-7-2 all-time ECHL record against Wichita, including an 8-5-1 record on the road. The Mavericks dominated the season series 13-1-1 last season including a 7-1-0 mark in Wichita. The Mavericks and Thunder are each looking for their first win of the season after Missouri was swept in Allen last weekend and Wichita lost 4-3 to Tulsa. At 209 miles, Wichita is Missouri's closest rival in the ECHL, but the teams find themselves in different divisions for the first time since joining the ECHL after this past summer's realignment. The Mavericks are in the Mountain and the Thunder are in the Central.
ROAD TRIPPING
Six of the Mavericks' seven games in October are away from Silverstein Eye Centers Arena and 12 of their first 18 games through November are on the road. Missouri tied for the league lead with 23 road wins last season, which included a stretch of six of eight games on the road last October where the Mavericks went 3-2-1. The Mavericks will have completed half of their road schedule by 12/23/16.
