ATL UTD 2 returns to action Saturday when it travels across state lines to take on USL Championship expansion side Birmingham Legion FC at BBVA Field for the first meeting between the two teams.
ATL UTD 2 is looking to bounce back after a tough defeat to New York Red Bulls II at MSU Soccer Park last Saturday. Despite the result, a pair of Atlanta United Academy players in Brandon Clagette and Will Reilly made their professional debuts while Jackson Conway netted his second goal of the season.
Birmingham welcomes Atlanta to BBVA Field during its three-match homestand which began last Saturday, July 13 with a 1-0 win against North Carolina FC. Brian Wright scored the game-winning goal in the 79th minute for his second tally of the year while Daigo Kobayashi picked up his team-leading third assist of the season.
