
Marlies Sweep Season Series against Griffins

Toronto Marlies News Release
The Toronto Marlies defeated the Grand Rapids Griffins, AHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings, by a score of 4-1 tonight at Ricoh Coliseum. With the win, Toronto concludes their season series with the defending Calder Cup champions having won all four contests.
T.J. Brennan's team leading 20th goal of the season opened the scoring on a powerplay at 1:17 of the second period. Josh Leivo gave the Marlies a 2-0 lead on his 10th goal of the season just over two minutes later. The Griffins would cut the lead in half midway through the final frame on Landon Ferraro's 12th tally of the year. Brandon Kozun gave Toronto a 3-1 lead with just under eight minutes remaining in regulation. Jerry D'Amigo secured the victory for the Marlies, scoring into an empty Grand Rapids net late in the game.
The Marlies return to the ice on Sunday when they host the Hamilton Bulldogs, AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens. Puck drop is 3 p.m. and the game can be seen live on Sportsnet360. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling the team's ticket line at 416-597-PUCK (7825).
