Admirals Fall to Comets 3-0
February 7, 2014 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Milwaukee, WI--The Admirals were shutout 3-0 by the Utica Comets on Friday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in the first ever meeting between the two teams.
During the first period both goalies stayed strong making it difficult for either team to find the back of the net. The Comets outshot the Admirals 10-8.
Utica got on the board just 3:55 into the second period when defenseman Alex Biega took the puck to the point and passed it to Darren Archibald at the left circle, who fired a one-timer past goaltender Marek Mazanec.
Just over five minutes later Kent Huskins got behind the Admirals defense and was met with a pass from Colin Stuart as Huskins streaked down the slot before beating Mazanec stick side.
With just 4:59 left in the second period Archibald got his second of the night just after an Admirals penalty expired, concluding the scoring for the night.
This was the first time that the Admirals have been shut out at home this year. The last time this happened at home was on March 27, 2013 against the Lake Erie Monsters.
The Admirals continue their five-game home-streak on Sunday afternoon when they host their Amtrak Rivals, the Chicago Wolves at 1:00pm.
Fans can order tickets by calling Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000 or by logging on to the Admirals website at www.milwaukeeadmirals.com. Groups of ten or more receive a minimum of $2 off each ticket. For more information or to order group tickets fans should call (414) 227-0550.
