Mike Penny, General Manager of the Toronto Marlies, announced today that left wing Simon Gamache has been selected to represent Canada at the 2007 Spengler Cup that will be held in Davos, Switzerland.

Gamache has appeared in 15 games for the Marlies this season posting four points (two goals, two assists). He has also played in 11 games with the Toronto Maple Leafs where he recorded four points (two goals, two assists). Canada will begin the tournament on December 26 in a match-up with HC Moeller Pardubice. They will then meet HC Davos on December 27, Salavat Yulaev Ufa on December 29 and Adler Manheim on December 30. The championship game of the tournament will take place on December 31.

The Marlies return home to host the Syracuse Crunch - AHL affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets - on Wednesday evening with puck drop scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Ricoh Coliseum. For ticket information, visit torontomarlies.com or call the team's ticket line at 416-597-PUCK.
