
Aubin To Join Hamilton; Desjardins, Gleed And Desharnais Sent To Cincinnati

HAMILTON, ON - Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today that forward Mathieu Aubin has been re-assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League from the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL. The Bulldogs also announced that goaltender Cedrick Desjardins, defenceman Jon Gleed and forward David Desharnais have been assigned to the Cyclones.
Aubin, a 21-year-old native of Sorel, Quebec, has 11 goals, eight assists, 19 points, a plus-10 rating and 32 penalty minutes in 23 games with the Cyclones this season. The 6-foot-3, 204-pound forward tallied five points (2-3-5) and four penalty minutes in 17 games with the Bulldogs during the 2006-2007 campaign.
Desjardins, a 22-year-old native of Edmunston, New Brunswick, was recalled by Hamilton on December 3rd, 2007 and appeared in two games, posting a 0-1-0 record with a 5.96 goals-against average and a .841 save percentage. Prior to joining the Bulldogs, The 6-foot, 183-pound netminder registered a 6-3-1 record with three shutouts, a 2.01 goals-against average and a .924 save percentage in 10 games in the ECHL with Cincinnati.
Gleed, a 23-year-old native of Milton, Ontario, has played 13 games with the Bulldogs this season, collecting two assists and two penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound blueliner has also picked up two assists and 18 penalty minutes this season in eight games with the Cyclones.
Desharnais, 21, was recalled by Hamilton on December 8th, 2007 and notched an assist and six penalty minutes in four games. The native of Quebec City, Quebec, has also appeared in 21 games with Cincinnati this season, collecting seven goals, 18 assists, 25 points, a plus-13 rating and eight penalty minutes. For his efforts in the month of November, the 5-foot-6, 177-pound forward took home the CCM Vector ECHL Rookie of the Month and the Paysource USA ECHL Plus Performer of the Month.
The defending Calder Cup Champion Hamilton Bulldogs return to action on Friday, December 21st at 8:30 p.m. when they travel to the MTS Centre in Winnipeg to take on the Manitoba Moose.
