Marlies Recall Goaltender Andrew Engelage From Reading

Jeff Jackson, General Manager of the Toronto Marlies, announced today that the club has recalled goaltender Andrew Engelage from the Reading Royals of the ECHL.

Engelage, 20, appeared in one preseason game with the Marlies, making 13 saves on 14 shots against the Hamilton Bulldogs on September 30. Engelage played in 54 games with the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League during the 2008-09 season earning a record of 46-4-1 with a 2.35 goals-against average and 0.914 save percentage. The 6'5, 206-pound goalie helped guide the Spitfires to a Memorial Cup Championship with a 14-2-1 record during the playoffs.

The Marlies host the Grand Rapids Griffins, AHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings, this Saturday at Ricoh Coliseum at 3:00 p.m. Toronto finishes their three-game homestand on Sunday with a tilt against the Rockford IceHogs, AHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks, at 4:00 p.m. For 2009-10 Marlies ticket information, including season ticket packages and group seats, visit www.torontomarlies.com or call the team's ticket line at 416-597-PUCK.
