
Bickell Recalled, Hawks Trade For Greentree

Chicago, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Stan Bowman announced Thursday that the National Hockey League club has recalled left wing Bryan Bickell from the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs.
Bickell, 23, recorded four penalty minutes in three preseason games with the Blackhawks in North America before dishing out an assist in the team's 9-2 win over HC Davos in Zurich, Switzerland on Sept. 28. The Bowmanville, Ontario, native appeared in 42 games with the IceHogs in 2008-09, recording six goals, eight assists and 60 penalty minutes. He has notched two goals in seven career games with the Blackhawks.
He was selected #41 overall (round 2) by Chicago in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He has appeared in 163 career AHL regular season contests with the Norfolk Admirals (2006-07) and IceHogs (2007-09) since turning pro in 2006, registering 35 goals, 43 assists, 78 points and 178 penalty minutes.
Prior to turning pro, Bickell spent four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Ottawa 67's and Windsor Spitfires, notching 190 points (94g-96a) and 235 penalty minutes in 242 career regular season outings.

GREENTREE ACQUIRED BY CHICAGO, SENT TO ROCKFORD
Chicago, Ill.-The Chicago Blackhawks have acquired left wing Kyle Greentree from the Calgary Flames in exchange for defenseman Aaron Johnson and have assigned him to the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs.
Greentree, 25, appeared in two games with the Flames last season, spending the majority of the campaign with the AHL's Quad City Flames where he led the club with career highs in goals (39) and points (76) while appearing in 79 of 80 regular-season contests. Greentree, who was on the roster of Calgary's AHL affiliate in Abbotsford, British Columbia at the time of the trade, has been held scoreless in four career National Hockey League matchups, which includes two with the Philadelphia Flyers in 2007-08.
The Victoria, British Columbia native has recorded 126 points (65g-61a) and 148 penalty minutes in 159 career AHL regular-season games in parts of three professional seasons with the Philadelphia Phantoms (2006-08) and Quad City (2008-09). Prior to turning pro, Greentree skated for three seasons at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks (CCHA), racking up 41 goals, 60 assists, 101 points and 167 penalty minutes in 115 career games.
Johnson, who has not appeared in any games with the Blackhawks this season, tallied eight points (3g-5a) in 38 matchups with the club last season, his first as a member of the organization after signing as a free agent on July 15, 2008.
