Thrashers Deal Smotherman To Columbus

The Atlanta Thrashers have recalled left wing JORDAN SMOTHERMAN from the Chicago Wolves, and traded him to the Columbus Blue Jackets for future considerations.

The 23-year-old forward has spent the past three seasons with the Wolves, collecting 55 goals, 52 assists, 107 points and 257 penalty minutes in 219 outings from 2006 to 2009. He also appeared in 37 Calder Cup playoff matchups with Chicago in 2007 and 2008, collecting 10 goals and 16 points, which includes eight points (3G, 5A) in 23 matchups en route to helping the Wolves claim the Calder Cup championship in 2008.

The Corvallis, Ore., native also appeared in four National Hockey League matchups with Atlanta from 2007 to 2009, recording two points (G, A).

The Wolves travel to Winnipeg this weekend for a pair of games with the Manitoba Moose, beginning with a matchup at the MTS Centre on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
