Mankato MoonDogs News Release

LA CROSSE, Wis. - The Mankato MoonDogs (18-8) and La Crosse Loggers (12-16) were just two outs from completing an official game, Monday at Copeland Park.

The MoonDogs led the contest 3-0 until the skies opened up in the bottom half of the fifth with one out which signaled a stoppage as tarps were brought out to shield the field from moisture. The nine-inning game will be resumed Tuesday in La Crosse at 5:05 p.m., with the originally scheduled game following it up as a seven-inning ballgame.

Mankato grabbed a 3-0 lead with one run in the first and two in the second. In three at bats, Adrian Torres (Grand Canyon) had a single and a pair of RBI.

Starting on the hill for the MoonDogs was Blake Reilly (Grand Canyon). Reilly threw 4.1 innings of shutout baseball while allowing one hit. He walked one and had seven strikeouts.

For the Loggers, Travis Luensmann pitched three innings, allowed five hits and three runs (two earned), walked four and had three strikeouts.

The MoonDogs and Loggers will resume the game Tuesday at 5:05 p.m., as a nine-inning affair, with Tuesday's originally scheduled contest following it up, as a seven-inning game.
