Manitoba Moose News Release
Goals:
- Brody Sutter grabs the rebound off the shot from the point and backhands it past Eric Comrie at 6:17 of the second period.
- Brody Sutter takes a shot from the circle which hits Brendan Woods in front of the Moose net which deflects past Comrie at the 11:29 of the second.
- Patrice Cormier intercepts a pass from goaltender Daniel Altshuller behind the net and passes it out front to John Albert out front who beats the goaltender at 14:11 of the second.
- Paul Postma dangles around two Charlotte players to get around the Checkers net. He passes it out front to the stick of an open Austen Brassard in the slot who fires on net and beats Altshuller to tie the game with 5:34 remaining in the third period.
- T.J. Hensick passes to Ethan Werek at the side of the net who shoots the puck past a diving Eric Comrie and rings it off the crossbar. Upon further review it is determined the puck crossed the line at 2:34 of overtime.
Highlights/Notes:
- Eric Comrie made his 15th consecutive start in the Moose net. He made 25 saves in the overtime loss.
- Paul Postma with an assist has recorded one point (1G, 2A) in each of his three games since joining the Moose on a conditioning stint from the NHL's Winnipeg Jets.
- Patrice Cormier (0G, 2A) and Austen Brassard (1G, 1A) have recorded a point in consecutive games.
- Charlotte now leads the season series 2-1-0-0 over the Moose. They will face each other five more times this season, four of which will be played at the MTS Centre.
- The Moose are now 1-2 in games decided in overtime.
- The Checkers have now earned at least one point in 14 of their last 15 games compiling a record of 12-1-1-1.
The Moose will play the rematch against the Charlotte Checkers on Sunday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. CT.
