Malm Haunts Vancouver in 4-0 Hitmen Win

Calgary, AB - James Malm recorded four assists against his former team to lead the Calgary Hitmen past the Vancouver Giants 4-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Riley Stotts netted a pair of goals in the win with Jake Kryski and Mark Kastelic adding singles. Egor Zamula chipped in a pair of assists helping the Hitmen pull into a tie with Brandon for the final Eastern Conference Wildcard spot.

Rookie goalie Jack McNaughton was named the first star, making 25 saves for his second shutout of the season and first on home ice.

Calgary, which fired 43 shots at the Vancouver net, won the special teams battle going 2-6 on the power play while killing all four shorthanded situations including a 5-on-3 for 1:06.

The Hitmen will now get set to ring in 2019 on New Year's Day at the 'Dome against the Victoria Royals. Game time is 1:00 p.m. for Airdrie Day presented by Southland Transportation. It's a hockey double header with every ticket purchased also good for admission to the 4:30 p.m. final of the Mac's AAA Midget World Invitational Hockey Tournament presented by Circle K.

Immediately following the Hitmen game, and before the Mac's Final, fans will be treated to a concert from Canada's best-selling kid's music group, The MINI POP KIDS. This family friendly show features versions of the year's biggest hits! Performing songs by Ariana Grande, Maroon 5, and Bruno Mars, to throwback favorites that all will enjoy.
