Madison Mallards News Release
Following a 5-4 loss in ten innings on Friday night, the Madison Mallards (9-6) are staying at home at the Duck Pond at Warner Park to host the Wisconsin Woodchucks (9-6) in a matchup of team's tied for third in the Great Lakes West division.
The Mallards failed to complete the sweep of the Kalamazoo Growlers last night despite a comeback attempt in the later innings. Down 3-0, the Mallards scored once in the eighth and then Alex Iadisernia (Elon) hit a two-run home run to tie the game with the Mallards down to their last strike in the ninth.
In extras though the Growlers hit back-to-back doubles to bring home two runs. The Mallards scored once in the tenth on an RBI-single from Matt Scannell (Princeton) but failed to tie the game.
Tonight the Mallards will send left-hander Ryan O'Hara (Illinois) to the mound. O'Hara has made eleven appearances and now three starts since joining the rotation. He owns a 1.44 ERA in 25 total innings pitched.
On the mound for the Woodchucks will be Tyler Hoeft (Washington State). Hoeft has made eight starts this season and has pitched well, owning a 2.42 ERA in 44.2 innings pitched.

There will also be postgame fireworks shortly following the end of tonight's game.
