Mankato MoonDogs News Release
The MoonDogs looked to put the last series behind them and throw the Buck Truck into park with a series sweep of one of the hottest teams in the Northwoods League.
MoonDogs would send All-Star Kolby Kiser to the mound for what was expected to be a battle. Kiser and the MoonDog fielders would make quick work of the Bucks in the first.
The MoonDogs would not take long to get on the board as Kai Roberts would steal home before the inning ended giving the Dogs a one run lead.
Kiser would continue his dominance at the mound blanking the Buck Truck for the second straight inning.
Asher Bradd would start his night out on a high note pushing two runs across the plate with a well-placed single giving the MoonDogs a three-run lead.
The Bucks would respond with a run trying to keep the game close but, Kiser would keep the line moving. The MoonDogs would not let up and keep the trend of scoring as many runs as the inning they are in as three runs scored for the MoonDogs.
Bradd would launch one deep over the wall in the fourth inning scoring the only run for the MoonDogs but giving them a commanding lead.
The fifth inning would see the first clean sheet for both teams of the game locking the MoonDogs into a solid lead coming down the stretch.
Bradd would start the sixth inning out with a bang with a first pitch triple pulling him with in a double of hitting the cycle. Roberts would continue his heater with a double scoring Bradd. Kip Fougerousse would get on the board with a double pushing Roberts in. Fougerousse would come across the plate later in the inning as Brody Harding would send him across.
The MoonDogs would not score for the rest of the night. That would not mean no more fireworks would happen. Bradd would come to the plate for the last time of the game and get a textbook double to complete the cycle for the MoonDogs. Bradd's cycle was the second cycle in MoonDogs history following Reid Fronk's August 11th, 2005, one that many MoonDogs fans are too young to remember.
The MoonDogs would win the game 10-2 in front of 1789 fans. Join us tomorrow as these same two teams face off for the last time in Mankato for the season at 6:35 P.M.
