
Madore Recalled to Marlies; Massa Returned to Solar Bears

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, have announced that goaltender Rob Madore has been recalled to the Toronto Marlies, while goaltender Ryan Massa has been returned from his loan with the Marlies.
Madore, 27, heads back to the Solar Bears' AHL affiliate for the third time this season. In 15 games with Orlando this season, Madore has a 5-6-4 record with a 2.99 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage. Madore is also 1-0-0 this season with the Marlies, sporting a 1.00 goals-against average and a .958 save percentage.
Massa, 25, returns to the Solar Bears after his second loan to the Marlies this season. In 14 games with Orlando, the rookie netminder is 5-7-1 with a 3.49 goals-against average, a .898 save percentage and one shutout. He is also 1-0-0 with Toronto, with a 1.00 goals-against average and a .941 save percentage.
The Solar Bears host the Florida Everblades in a Wawa Sunshine Cup Series game as they continue their fourth season in the ECHL, presented by Auto Justice Attorney Michael T. Gibson, P.A. on Saturday, Jan. 2 at 7:00 p.m. at the Amway Center.
Saturday's game is also the first game in Orlando's Hockey Fights Cancer Weekend festivities, as the Solar Bears will wear specialty pink jerseys, and the first 3,000 fans in attendance will receive a Hockey Fights Cancer puck presented by Florida Hospital. Saturday's game will also be televised live on WKMG-TV News 6.
