December 31, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Indy Fuel News Release
INDIANAPOLIS - The American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs announced Thursday that they have reassigned forward Daniel Ciampini to the ECHL's Indy Fuel. Additionally, the Fuel have signed goaltender Jordan Ruby to a standard player's contract. Both players are expected to join the Fuel in time for their game against the Fort Wayne Komets Thursday night.
Returning from his second AHL recall of the season, the 25-year-old Ciampini picked up a goal in Rockford's 5-2 win over the Texas Stars on Dec. 8. In eight games played with the IceHogs this year, the native of Concord, Ontario has one point, seven shots on goal and a -1 rating. Ciampini additionally appeared in 15 games at the end of the 2014-15 season with the AHL's Worcester Sharks, picking up six points (3g, 3a).
In 15 outings with the Fuel this season, the 5-11, 185-pound rookie forward has tallied 11 points (3g, 6a) and shows a +1 rating. Ciampini had found the scoresheet in two straight games prior to his recall on Dec. 24. A four-year product of Union College, Ciampini recorded 118 points (63g, 55a) in 131 collegiate games, and was part of the first NCAA Championship in Dutchmen history in 2014.
Ruby, 24, has appeared in eight games with the Huntsville Havoc in the Southern Professional Hockey League this season, recording a 4-3-1 record along with a 1.87 goals against average and a .929 save percentage. The native of Tavistock, Ontario played in one game with the Toledo Walleye last spring, earning his first professional victory with 26 saves against the Kalamazoo Wings on April 3.
The 6-foot-1, 209-pound netminder played collegiate hockey at the Rochester Institute of Technology, leading the Tigers to the NCAA Midwest Regional Final his senior season. Indy acquired Ruby's rights from the Cincinnati Cyclones in exchange for future considerations.
